Welcome to iLibrary (Library Science) at Clayton Heights!


Hello and welcome to iLibrary! I look forward to working with you and hope that you will come away from this course with many lifelong skills. This course is designed for you to learn and grow at your own pace, so whether you're a library expert or a rookie, you'll have a chance to learn new skills and build on existing ones! Above all, this should be FUN! 

Your major ongoing assignment for this class is to create and maintain a blog using Blogger. If you've never made one before, don't worry! This course is a chance for all of us to learn together and navigate the ever-changing world of online technology. This blog will give you an opportunity to practice using online tools and reflect on your progress in the course. Your blog will include:

Approximately 1 blog post/opinion piece every 2 weeks... I will give you the topics about a week in advance.
6 ongoing reading assignments. See the attachment on your course outline.
Other assignments TBA that you will post links to on your blog.


Instructions for creating your blog:

1. Open a G-mail (Google) Account (if you don't already have one)
Go to Google on the internet
Click on Gmail
Go to create an account and fill in information (send your email address to Ms. McLean at mclean_jennifer@surreyschools.ca if you in Period 2, 3, 4, or 5, or to Mr. Bridges at bridges_r@surreyschools.ca for Period 1.

2. Create a blog using Blogger
At Google at the top, click more and click on Blogger
Sign into Blogger with your Gmail Account
Create a blog, choose a template and make your first post (Introduce yourself and tell me a little bit about you!) Please also email me your blog address.

You should have your blog created and your profile completed by the end of the week. Please see me if you have any questions. Good luck!
